Dr. Mario Miglietta

Mario Miglietta
Dr. Miglietta is a founding member and full partner of Riverfront Medical Associates. He has been an Attending Emergency Physician at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ for the past 10 years and has had a private practice focusing on house calls for the past 5 years. He attended New York University for undergraduate studies, New York College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and was residency-trained in Emergency Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Residency in Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. He is Board-certified in Emergency Medicine. With special DEA training, Dr. Miglietta is also certified to prescribe Suboxone, a novel medication used to treat opiod dependence.

Dr. Miglietta is also a police surgeon for Homeland Security Mobile Trauma Unit, a tactical medial team which supports federal agencies such as the United States Secret Service and State Department Diplomatic Security Service.

Dr. Miglietta's hobbies include photography, oil painting and sports. Other interests include traveling, music and dining.
Dr. Nilay Shah

Nilay Shah, MD practices neurology with special interests in Epilepsy and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Shah received his bachelor's degree at Cornell University, followed by his medical degree at St. George's University. Dr. Shah then completed his training in Neurology at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York city, followed by further subspeciality training in Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of Pittsburgh-Presbyterian Medical Center.

Dr. Shah co-founded and helps to run the largest healthcare related websites in the world for Tablet PC and Pocket PC devices - which can be found at www.medicalpocketpc.com and www.medicaltabletpc.com.

Nilay's interests also lie in research and development of new insights into understanding current diseases. He is currently conducting original research in Multiple Sclerosis with Logan Biotech, and as faculty for MSLeaders.org.

In his spare time, Dr. Shah enjoys traveling around the world, bicycling, downhill skiing and SCUBA diving.
Dr. Lydia Shajenko

Lydia Shajenko, MD PhD
Lydia Shajenko, MD PhD is a Board Certified Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist new to the New Jersey area. Currently, she is on staff at Palisades General Hospital in North Bergen, NJ as well as at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. She completed her medical school education at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT in 1997 receiving both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Her doctorate work involved studying the neurotoxic mechanism of amyloid beta-peptide in Alzheimer's disease. She completed her Internship in General Surgery / Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, VA, and Residency training in Neurology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in NY in 2002. Her Fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology was completed at the prestigious New York University in 2003. Dr. Shajenko initially joined a group practice in Kingston, NY before deciding to start her own practice in 2006.

Dr. Shajenko is a member of the United States Figure Skating Association and has her Gold Figure and Freestyle qualifying tests. Lydia previously competed at the regional and national levels. She enjoys snow, water and jet skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, SCUBA diving and bicycling.
Dr. Kenneth Weinberg

Ken Weinberg, MD
Dr. Weinberg is a Board Certified Emergency Physician, Residency Trained in Internal Medicine. He is Assistant Director of the Emergency Department at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ as well as an Instructor in The Program in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

In addition to his clinical work Dr. Weinberg is an avid photographer, videographer and writer whose work has appeared in medical journals and the lay press, including the New York Times. He is also active in health care policy work including being on the board of NYC Metro Physicians for a National Health Program, a group of medical and non-medical professionals dedicated to bringing expanded Medicare for All to all people living in the United States. He is also on the board of Fractured Atlas, an arts service organization.

Dr. Weinberg has a daughter, Georgia, who is currently a freshman at St. Andrews University in Scotland. He lives in Manhattan and Old Chatham, NY.

Gordon Kaplan, MD did his training in Microsurgery, Reconstructive Surgery, and Replant surgery at NYU Medical Center in New York City. He completed his plastic surgery training at UMDNJ in Newark, New Jersey. Prior to his training in Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, Dr. Kaplan completed 5 years of General Surgery and was chief resident at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, NY.

He received his B.A. in Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley. He went on to receive a Masters in Medical Science, with a focus on Behavioral Neurobiology, from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College.

Dr. Kaplan specializes in Breast Reconstruction, Head & Neck Reconstruction, Hand Surgery, and Aesthetic Surgery.

He also focuses on facial rejuvenation, specializing in facial fillers, including Radiesse, Juvaderm, and Botox.

Dr. Kaplan is an attending surgeon at Hackensack University Medical Center, the Valley Hospital, Holy Name Hospital, UMDNJ-University Hospital, and St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Kaplan is an avid sculptor and artist, with numerous published medical illustrations, to accompany his lengthy list of journal and textbook publications in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery.

Debra Grossano MS, RD, CDN, CDE has a Bachelors degree from Rutgers College, Rutgers University in Exercise Science and Sports Studies and a Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition from NYU.

She worked in corporate fitness for 3 years providing clients with personal training. During her masters program for nutrition, she completed a rigorous internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. As a dietitian she has worked in several different hospitals and has 6 years of experience in private practice. She counsels clients for a wide variety of issues, including, weight loss, high cholesterol, hypertension, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, Gestational Diabetes, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other digestive disorders, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, pregnancy and lactation, and Gastric Bypass/Banding.

Debra is a Certified Diabetes Educator by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators. She takes a very realistic and practical approach to nutrition. Her motto is "Real Nutrition For Real Life!" All of her sessions are individualized and tailored to each client's needs, abilities, and lifestyles.

Acupuncturist Margaret Steele is a Diplomate of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is licensed to practice acupuncture in both New York and New Jersey. She received her M.S. degree in Acupuncture from the Swedish Institute, College of Health Sciences' School of Acupuncture and Oriental Studies in New York City. Margaret practices Classical Chinese Acupuncture, which offers a greater range of treatment options than the more commonly-practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). At Riverfront Medical Associates, Margaret offers acupuncture as adjunctive care to regular medical treatment, as well as stand-alone therapy.
